Well, first and foremost, my name is Melissa Luedtke and I am an Independent Sales Consultant with Arbonne International. I've always been interested in network marketing and working from home, all the while, reaping the benefits of a six figure career without having to sacrifice my social life. Let's be honest here...who isn't interested in all of that?! So I was extremely excited when I actually put my gears in motion and attended my first prospect meeting, This however, was not with Arbonne. We'll just call them "company X." With that said, my first experience with network marketing left me feeling very alone and extremely discouraged. The initial meeting with "company X" was full of promise and excitement. I met a lot of extremely incredible and intelligent women, all of whom were ready and willing to help me in my own journey, or so i thought.</font></span></font><br /><font face="Arial"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Verdana;">    </span></font><font face="Arial"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Verdana;"><font size="2" face="Arial" color="#666666">I soon discovered, however, that I had actually signed up with a group of women that were only interested in meeting sales/inventory quotas... which is why i was pushed to make an initial purchase of $3,000. Yup, you read correctly $3,000. I laughed when I was told this, as I, in no way shape or form, had that kind of money to drop...on make-up!!! After all, I was getting into this business to make money, not put myself into the red. My team soon rebutted with "take out another credit card" and "this will help you become more successful." To which I responded, "no." It was then, that these, once eager to help me, women soon became too busy to help me with my business and actually told me that, "without the $3,000 inventory [i would] be on my own." I was also told that, "if I stayed with the team, I'd be apart of something amazing...as "company X" could actually be better than Arbonne someday."</font></span></font><br /><font face="Arial"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Verdana;"><font size="2" face="Arial" color="#666666">    It was at this point that I thought...Wait, I could stay apart of a company that is trying to <strong><u>measure up</u></strong> to the competition OR I could actually <u><strong>be</strong></u> the competition!
